Edinburgh Castle

One of the first things we visited on our trip to Edinburgh last week was the castle.

High on a hill, it looms over the city.

Inside the castle walls, there’s a lot to see, and history drips from every stone.

However, it costs £15 pounds to enter and that’s far too much. (£15!! I can’t think why I didn’t protest more.)

Also, allergy sufferers beware: some castle rooms are VERY dusty and the grounds are a pollen trap.  (Apologies to all those fellow castle-goers on whom I sneezed.)

Despite the extortionate admission price and my excessive sneezing, the Castle was my favourite “attraction” in Edinburgh.

Main square at the castle.

History drips from some very pretty stones.
