Carnival Comes to Town

On Sunday afternoon we went to Peschiera del Garda, a small town on Lake Garda.

The free car park looked like this:

It was carnival, which means the streets looked something like this:

What we call "confetti" in English, the Italians call "coriandoli". "Confetti" in Italian translates as sugar-coated almonds.

Before our walk along the lake, we stopped to watch a show.

World Champion Pizza Acrobatics

Some pizza chefs were displaying their considerable talents of preparing pizza dough while moving and grooving to music. It was a lot of fun and I bet they have a blast in the kitchen.

My photos don’t really do these guys justice but you can see how they were getting down.

It put a new spin on pizza – just when I thought I had seen it all…
